I occasionally get brief glimpses in nearby fields but it has been a while since one of these beautiful creatures was seen in the garden.
This is WAAAY better than Heron-cam 🥰 😃
There are many other pictures over a ten minute period but in nearly all of them this wonderful animal is behind the Gunnera and not clearly visible.
Is it a tom pheasant? Lovely area.
ReplyDeleteThanks, this is one of the ponds (but not the one the Heron were feeding from).
DeleteI can't see a pheasant, but can see a hare - at least I think it's a hare. We saw them - well, a pair or just the one on its own - often in the field behind where we used to live.
ReplyDeleteYes Sue, it is a hare. Lovely start to the morning to find I had these pictures.
DeleteWow! What wonderfully clear photos. Such a joyful capture! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Vix, I am staggered by the timestamp - I would have been puttering around getting ready to go into the garden, maybe finishing breakfast when this gorgeous creature was just outside the kitchen windows. I shall be keeping a much closer eye on outdoors for the next few days :-)
DeleteAwww, I agree. What a fella!
ReplyDeleteThanks, he or she is absolutely beautiful. I was jumping up and down and squealing like a toddler on too much sugar when I saw what the camera had captured 😆
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful, and lovely clear photos too. I used to love watching the hares boxing at this time of year in the fields of our farm in Oxfordshire. Come to think of it I don't think I've seen any since then. LOTS of rabbits on our land in Wales but no hares. Isn't it a nice feeling to know that you have created a landscape that they are happy to come and visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. You have it spot on - creating a space that is healthy and welcoming to wildlife is probably one of things I am most proud of having done (but still behind the rescue of a certain little dog and turning her life around!)
DeleteWHAT a delightful surprise! And superb photos too. Much lovelier than those pesky herons! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeth
thank you Beth, appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment :-)
DeleteTook me a minute to find it, but it was delightful when I did. Your elation is palpable.
ReplyDeleteThank you David. Welcome to "Bag End" (or should that be Luddite-Central? 😆 )
DeleteGorgeous! I spotted it immediately in the first photograph, but it took me a while to see it in the second :) Xx
ReplyDeleteSaw the hare, bet he enjoyed his lunch there! We once saw two 'boxing' in a field as we drove past, never seen them again.
